Although there are many species of fish in the region of the George
River valley, large Brook
Trout
are one of the most sought after fish, for their extraordinary colors,
size, and catch ratio. Atlantic
Salmon and black salmon provide some of the best freshwater action
you can imagine in the heart of Northern Quebec.

Brook Trout fishing at Pyramid Mountain Camp is always outstanding and
action packed. George River produces some of the finest Brook trout fishing
in the world with the average size weighing in about 2 lbs. (1 kg). You
can expect to hook some big ones during your week at camp and the abundance
of fish when they are taking is absolutely amazing! The average angler
can hook anywhere between 200 - 400 fish within the week if conditions
are right. Our camp record Brook trout taken in August of 2000 is an incredible
11 pounds (5 kg) and many more taken throughout the years range from 5
- 9 lbs. Landlocked Arctic Char & big Lake Trout add to the excitement
of your trip. Landlocked Arctic Char range from 2 - 7 lbs. while Lake
Trout can get up to 30 lbs. or more.

Atlantic Salmon & Black Salmon Fishing on the George River, Northern
Quebec

for Black Salmon in July or Fly fish for fresh run Atlantic Salmon in
August and September.
Pound for pound, the Atlantic Salmon is considered by many to be the
best fighting fresh water fish around. Our average fish weighs in around
12 lbs. (6 kg) but salmon over 30 lbs. (14 kg) have been hooked and landed
at Pyramid camp.
We have had an exclusive lease for over 35 years with no one else fishing
here but our clients. Give yourself an opportunity to fish Atlantic salmon
on our 45 mile lease with over 40 salmon pools and lies.
Spin Fishing for Black(Over wintering) Salmon is ideal in early July.
Last years summer run of fresh fish indicates that this year will be good
for Black salmon. Brook trout and Arctic Char add to the variety during
this period.
Fly fishing for Atlantic salmon in August is great. The fish are healthy
and strong after spending the winter at sea. The fresh runs usually start
about the first week of August through to mid September. Fly fishing for
Brook trout is also excellent in this phase.
